CEC welcomed as Member of Silicon Saxony e.V.

Controlled Environments Company (CEC) are delighted to be welcomed as a member of the Silicon Saxony e.V. association.

With over 550 members, Silicon Saxony is the largest high-tech network in Saxony, one of the largest ICT clusters in Germany and the largest microelectronics cluster in Europe. Completely self-financed, Silicon Saxony has been connecting manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, colleges/universities, research institutes, public institutions, and industry-relevant start-ups in Saxony and beyond since its foundation in 2000.

The thematic focus of the cluster is on the technological trends of the present and future – e.g. artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, Internet of Things, sensor technology, energy efficiency, neuromorphic or edge computing. As a close cooperation partner of the Dresden Smart Systems Hub and the Leipzig Smart Infrastructure Hub, Silicon Saxony also offers direct access to the topics, projects and locations of the Digital Hub Initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

The overriding goals of the network’s work include the expansion and strengthening of Europe’s leading microelectronics location and the advancement of the parallel development towards a software state in Saxony. This is done in close coordination with the Saxon state government and the economic development institutions in the Free State. In this constellation, the cluster also supports regional location marketing.

As a high-profile information, communication, and cooperation platform, and by participating in and organising industry events, Silicon Saxony promotes the regional, national, and international networking of its members. Targeted lobbying ensures, for example, the co-design of funding programmes – from the local to the European level. Experts in the network also promote the transfer of knowledge and technology between the members and thus also innovations in working groups and other formats.
