Advantages of Glove Liners

Advantages of Glove Liners

Glove liners are an essential add-on for anyone wearing gloves in cleanroom environments. Aside from offering an extra layer of protection, glove liners absorb sweat, which allows the wearer to be more comfortable when wearing cleanroom gloves. Some of the benefits of glove liners are outlined below:

Advantages of Glove Liners

  1.  Eliminates excessive moisture from prolonged wear of disposable gloves

Disposable gloves are one of the most important wearable products in a cleanroom environment - they effectively protect products against contamination from the wearer's hands. Due to advancements in glove manufacturing, disposable gloves create such a successful barrier between the wearer and the environment, that air cannot get to the hands. As a result of this, the sweat that is naturally produced cannot evaporate, leading to discomfort and a loss of agility and tactility.

Glove liners are designed to be worn underneath disposable gloves to allow excess moisture to be absorbed. This prevents user discomfort and any dexterity loss.
  2. Protects skin from reactions and sensitivity

Excessive moisture build up, referenced in the first point, can lead to the skin become irritated or even infected, in severe cases. Additionally, levels of latex present in a disposable glove may cause an allergic reaction in some cases. Wearing a glove liner made from material such as nylon or cotton can help protect the wearer's skin from any unwanted reactions.

Glove liners are available in either a full finger or half-finger option, with half-finger glove liners recommended for users concerned about tactile sensitivity at the fingertips.
  3. Can add an additional layer of protection to the wearer

As well as protecting the skin from irritation caused by too much moisture, glove liners can enhance a disposable glove's overall protective properties. By adding an ESD-safe or cut-resistant glove liner, the user increases their protection from various hazards.
  4. Reduces the amount of disposable gloves wasted

Due to the excessive moisture that occurs when wearing disposable gloves, users are more likely to change gloves more often. Using glove liners prevents more disposable gloves than necessary being donned, which is not only good for the environment, but is more cost effective.
